MIA Distributes 25,000 Bouquets to
Passengers in Celebration of International Women's Day
Passengers throughout Miami International Airport (MIA) received
flowers on March 8 as the airport celebrated International Women’s
Day and Women’s History Month. Representatives from American
Airlines, the Miami-Dade Police Department and the Transportation
Security Administration joined Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T.
González and the Association of Floral Importers of Florida (AFIF) to
hand out more than 25,000 bouquets to honor and recognize women.

to Begin Service Out of PortMiami March 30, 2016
The Empress of the Seas returns to Royal Caribbean and PortMiami
following a brief stint with Spanish line Pullmantur. First launched in
1990, the ship is set to undergo a major overhaul before embarking on
four- and five-day cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas from
PortMiami, the Cruise Capital of the World.

Another week, another title. Aussie superstar Adam Scott
clinched his second consecutive victory this year by winning the
title at the 2016 World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship
played on the famed Blue Monster Course at the Trump National Doral
Miami. The win marks the first time a tour winner has been able to
win back-to-back tournaments in Florida since Tiger Woods in 2001.

City of Miami Beach Referendum Item #60 approving the city’s lease of
city property for a convention headquarter hotel adjacent to the
Miami Beach Convention Center on Monday, January 25, 2016. The
proposed 100 percent privately funded 800-room headquarter
hotel adjacent to the convention center is crucial to the success of
the renovation of the Miami Beach Convention Center in attracting
business and especially highly coveted citywide conventions. The
GMCVB encourages voters on Miami Beach to VOTE ‘YES’ #60.

Metrorail's
Orange Line Increases Weekend Service to Miami International
Airport (MIA)
The Department of
Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is increasing its weekend
Orange Line service to and from the Miami International Airport
(MIA) Metrorail station to better serve residents and visitors
taking transit from MIA. As of Saturday, March 5, 2016, Orange
Line trains depart from the MIA Station every 15 minutes instead
of every 30 minutes.
